. we estimate that more than 37, 000 lives have been saved as a result of this program. when acknowledging this milestone, we must recognize that the success of the rbs program is reliant on the contributions of our many boating safety partners. we depend on the cooperative efforts, talents, and resources of many people: state and local governments; volunteers from various organizations such as our own coast guard auxiliary, the u.s. power squadrons, the national water safety congress, and hundreds of organizations in the national safe boating council;
