Welcome to our first issue of findlay honda henderson vision, a magazine designed for findlay honda's extended family, our customers. we have created this magazine to entertain you and provide you with the most up-to-date city, culture and style las vegas and its surrounding areas have to offer. this issue is dedicated to the refurbishing of the city of las vegas and east freemont street. we enjoyed visiting many of the restaurants, galleries and stores that are assisting in the change of "downtown" las vegas and of course picked out a few of our favorites to highlight. down on third street we stopped into triple george grill, sidebar, and hogs & heifers, who where among the first to settle in the "new downtown." triple george grill was inspired by the classic seafood houses in san francisco and has quickly become a local favorite for both lunch and dinner. we highly recommend the cookies for desert. it was great to see a landmark in las vegas actually not imploded and revitalized to become a city icon, that being the holsum bread bakery on east charleston, which was renovated in 2004 and has now become a mix of boutiques, restaurants, offices and design studios. our favorite that we visited max ryser's bistro divino, and it was engaging to hear his story of how the restaurant was a childhood dream that reached reality for him and his american friend. once at the holsum design center we highly recommend las vegas paper doll, a unique shop dedicated to stationary, unique gifts and select publications. since first friday, a town down art festival that began in 2004 by founder cindy funkhouser, las vegas has become a hot bed for artist and gallery openings. just down the street from the monthly event at the s2arts building sits inside a little gallery called trifecta, where artist marty walsh, who has become famous for her nostalgic collections, is a haven to aspiring artists and displays several of her collections. our favorite has to be the kitchen counter appliances, as it truly invoked grandma's kitchen from the `50s and `60s. what other city in the world could host it's own feather store? rainbow feather dyeing company on main street offers every kind of legal feather available. we even found a great dentist who literally put down roots and opened his practice in the quaint neighborhood of historic homes. we hope you enjoy this issue as it depicts the city that the family-owned findlay dealership has been a part of since the early `60s. we also hope you feel that is a true testimony of good and video poker machines.
